I9s, Immigration, and ICE Raids on the Farm

Farmers, ranchers, and their advisors are facing new challenges in managing their workforce during today’s uncertain and fast-changing political environment. This workshop provides the legal context and practical guidance to help agricultural employers protect the stability of their operation and the communities on which they depend.

Participants instruction on how to correctly verify a worker’s eligibility for employment in the United States, including where things can get complicated with no-match letters and retaining documents. The session will also address how to respond lawfully and with care if Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) visits a farm or ranch. These are complex subjects, and we’ll put enforcement in perspective with the broader realities of farm work.

Attendees will leave with a better understanding of what is required, what to expect, and what practical steps they can take now to be prepared. Designed for both farmers and their business advisors, this session offers the knowledge and tools needed to navigate workforce management with professionalism and care—no matter the broader political climate.
